We work with clients at every stage of the impact journey to help identify and integrate real-world impact into decision-making, measurement and reporting.
We offer the following services customised to meet clients' needs. All our work is aligned to globally recognised frameworks, including the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the IFC’s Operating Principles for Impact Management and the Impact Management Project. Impact Measurement & Management Systems
We work with clients to develop practical Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) systems that align with their investment and business strategy. We establish an understanding of client's current strategy, practices, capacity and constraints and the goals they are looking to achieve. This allows us to develop a tailored approach comprised of key elements such as preparing an impact thesis, defining metrics, formulating data collection plans and developing impact screening tools.
Social Due Diligence
We conduct independent social due diligence to assess the social impact opportunities and risks of specific investments. Our approach includes site visits and in-depth, structured interviews with key stakeholders. Our due diligence reports provide clients with an evidence-based opinion on the extent to which their impact objectives are being achieved, whilst also highlighting any potential risks to and opportunities for increasing impact creation.
Impact Assessment and Reporting
We collect and analyse key data and performance metrics to provide a transparent and considered opinion about the positive and negative impacts of our clients’ activities. Independent impact assessment and reporting aims to both ‘prove and improve’ impact by providing practical feedback on how impact creation can be further enhanced. Our impact reports help clients demonstrate their transparency and accountability to all stakeholders.
We help clients understand their stakeholders' lived experiences. Our lean and fast approach to outcomes measurement is designed to reduce the time and cost of engaging end-users – allowing people to articulate change in their own words, but in a way that allows analysis based on quantitative trends and benchmarking. We've also developed a radically lean survey tool called Insightable, enabling investors and mission-led organisations to capture stakeholder voices without the need for costly and time consuming surveys.
ESG and Impact Review and Verification
We work with clients to review and develop their approach to ESG integration and to impact measurement and management, against both established and emerging industry good practice. This work may include drafting new policies and procedures and supporting submissions for industry certification, such as becoming a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment or IFC Operating Principles for Impact Management.
The Good Economy has helped us ensure we can demonstrate each of our investments is achieving tangible and measurable social impact.
